Whatever composite material this vice is made of split under very light pressure, hand-tightening the unit the very first time I tried to attach it to my workbench.
This vise is more of a clamp than a vise. No teeth in the jaws which could be good or bad depending on what you need it for. Don't expect to be hitting this little guy with a hammer and remain steadfast. I use it to hold pipe and fittings while I soldier and I have it clamped to my soldiering box.It comes with rubber pads but I took them off for obvious reasons. My vise does not open smoothly, which kinda irritates me.Overall, with the ability to adjust the head and it being so handy I really like it. I gave it only four stars because it does not open smoothly at all, and I really wanted teeth in the jaws.
I haven't used yet but it seems that it's pretty good. It's quite usefull 'cause you can put anything in any angle to fix it.
This vise was great as a basic clamp, or to hold something while being worked on, but attempted use as an actual vise caused the tightening screw to shear with only hand strength.Rubberized clamps were a nice feature, the positionable ball is great, the device was simple and uncomplicated. But a major component breaking with only hand strength was very disappointing.
I live in an apartment, and this the perfect vice, small, very versatile, and can be cramped temporary to any table. This is the best acquisition to my set to tools in a long while.
